Islamabad, July 24 (IBNS): The police on Tuesday arrested five suspects after seizing a stack of fake ballot papers from Umerkot district in Pakistan, media reports said.

The fake ballot papers were found hidden in a jeep near Pakistan Chowk in the town of Umerkot, and were to be delivered to the PS-52 constituency, police sources told Geo News.

"The five suspects who were arrested for their alleged involvement in the case were identified as Anwar Soomro, Hakim, Iqbal, Kanghar, and Nawab," reported the news channel.

Police have started investigating into the matter.

Pakistan to vote tomorrow:

Amid tight security, Pakistan is all set to vote to elect a new National Assembly and provincial assemblies on Wednesday.

Before the elections, the campaigning period witnessed terror attacks which even left several candidates killed.

The main contest in the poll will be held between Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan's PTI.

The political battle will also see the participation of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) of Asif Ali Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto.

The period of campaigning for the polls ended on Tuesday midnight.

Political parties worked hard to earn greater public support for the polls.

Polling is scheduled to start at 8 am on Wednesday.
