Pakistan: Death row convict executed in Balochistan's Machh Jail

Islamabad, Apr 8 (IBNS) Pakistan has executed a death row convict in Balochistan’s Machh Jail on Wednesday, media reports said.

According to reports, this was first execution carried out in the province n seven years.

"According to prison authorities, death row inmate Amir Hamza murdered a person over a trivial matter back in 1995," Geo News reported.

He was awarded capital punishment in 2004 and his plea for pardon was dismissed by President Mamnoon Hussain on Mar 30 .

At least 60 convicts have been executed since that move was made by the government.
