Peshawar, Mar 31 (IBNS): A blast outside an imambargah at a market in Pakistan's Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province killed at least 22 people on Friday, media reports said.

“We have 22 dead bodies here at the hospital and 57 injured, including women and children,” said Moeen Begum, a surgeon at the hospital told Dawn News.

The blast occurred in the Noor market.

According to Dawn News,  Jamat-ul-Ahrar, a banned group, claimed responsibility for the attack.

Condemning the loss of lives in the incident, cricketer-turned Pakistani politician Imran Khan tweeted: "Strongly condemn blast in Parachinar targeting innocent people. KP CM must ensure all medical and rescue services on emergency basis."
