Balochistan, Pakistan: Several Baloch leaders in Pakistan attended a meeting recently to discuss prevention of  fishing by illegal trawlers, media reports said on Wednesday.

The move was made amid ongoing talks over plans to restart the Gwadar port in Balochistan.

The protest which started in November last year came to a halt in December after the government agreed to the demands of the people protesting the illegal fishing of trawlers in Gwadar, reports ANI news agency.

The major demand was to ban the illegal fishing of trawlers at the Makran Coast and to protect the rights of fishermen of Gwadar and other areas of Balochistan, the news agency reported.

At this latest meeting, attended by top officers of the provincial government, it was revealed that the illegal trawlers have reappeared in the waters of Balochistan, reports ANI.
