Netanyahu dismisses threats to indict him as 'Futile'
Tel Aviv, Feb 28 (Sputnik) Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday described attempts to indict him as futile, but said they could affect the results of April elections in the country.
Israeli Attorney General Avihai Mandelblit announced earlier in the day his intention to file three corruption charges against Netanyahu, including bribery, fraud and breach of trust.
In a televised address to the nation, Netanyahu denied any wrongdoing and linked Mandelblit's announcement with attempts of his political opponents to defeat his right-wing Likud party at legislative elections set for April 9.
"I’m sure I’ll break apart this 'house of cards,' but this pressure may affect the election,” Netanyahu said.
