Mortar shells attack in Afghanistan kills 2

Kabul, June 23 (IBNS): A mortar shells attack in central Maidan Wardak province of Afghanistan left at least two people killed on Saturday, media reports said.

The incident left nine others hurt.

The shells were reportedly fired by Taliban.

Provincial Council (PC) Head Sharifullah Hotak told Pajhwok Afghan News mortar shells fired by the Taliban landed in a bazaar in Maidanshahr, the provincial capital, on Friday evening.

Governor Spokesman Abdul Rahman Mangal told the news agency that two people were killed and seven others injured in the mortar shell attack.

The injured people were taken to hospital for treatment.
