Beirut, June 17 (Xinhua/UNI) Lebanon's Internal Security forces arrested in Southern Lebanon on Monday two Syrian nationals belonging to the Islamic State (IS) militant group and planning for future terrorist attacks in churches in the country.

The arrested Syrians are active on social media in spreading the IS ideology and creating channels for sharing the activities of the terrorist group all over the world, said a report by the National News Agency.

They have also connected with members of the IS group to organize terrorist attacks inside Shiite religious locations in southern Lebanon.

The two Syrian nationals were referred to the concerned judicial bodies for further investigations and other legal procedures.

Lebanon has been previously targeted by several terrorist attacks.

The latest attack was implemented by an IS member, who blew himself up in Tripoli earlier this month, killing four members of the Lebanese Army and Internal Security forces.
