Karachi: School guard arrested over attempt of rape of minor

Karachi, Jan 12 (IBNS): A school guard has been arrested in Pakistan's Karachi city on Friday after a five-year-old girl told her parents that the person had attempted to rape her, media reports said.

The minor’s parents said she told them about the incident when she returned home from school on Thursday, Geo News reported.

Police said the parents reached school and beat up the arrested person.

They later handed him to the police.

DIG East Sultan Khawaja confirmed to Geo News that the suspect was arrested and was being interrogated regarding the alleged incident.

The incident occurred at a time when Kasur area of the country witnessed protest over the rape and murder of seven-year-old Zainab.

The incident has been protested by people of different areas of society in Pakistan.

Politicians from different parties have also condemned the incident.
