Indian-origin Bengali doctor Bhasha Mukherjee wins Miss England title
London, Aug 1 (IBNS): An Indian-origin Bengali girl Bhasha Mukherjee has won the Miss England title, media reports said.
A doctor by profession, Bhasa started her job as a junior doctor on Friday, media reports said.
Last night she won the Miss England title at the grande finale in Newcastle and this morning she has her first shift at an NHS hospital in Boston, Lincs, reported The Sun newspaper.
Bhasa was quoted as saying by The Sun: "Some people might think pageant girls are airheads, but we all stand for a cause."

"We're all trying to showcase to the world that actually just because we're pretty, it doesn't end there - we're actually trying to use our reach and influence to do something good," she said.
Bhasa, 23, can speak in five languages which include her mother tongue Bengali.
By scooping Miss England, she will win a holiday to Mauritius and entry into the prestigious global Miss World pageant, reported The Sun.
