Islamabad, July 29 (IBNS): Pakistan's Prime Minister-elect Imran Khan may take oath at D-Chowk in Islamabad city of the country,  Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Naeemul Haque said.

Haque said Imran Khan will want to perform a people's ceremony.

The PTI leader tweeted: "IK would prefer a People’s ceremony of oath taking where thousands can watch him take the oath as PM of Pakistan. Perhaps D Chowk area may be the right place to do it. Let’s hope so. Will keep on updating on this."

Pakistan voted to elect a new Prime Minister of the country last week.

Haque was quoted as saying by media that Imran Khan will take oath as the PM before Aug 14.

Pakistan celebrates Independence on Aug 14.

Khan and his PTI put up a strong performance in the General Elections.
