Hundreds protest in Pakistan over gas outages

| @indiablooms | Feb 29, 2024, at 12:13 am

Hundreds of protesting women blocked Rawalpindi road in Pakistan's Bahawalnagar city on Monday to demonstrate against gas outages.

The protesting women told Dawn News that gas was supplied to domestic consumers only for three hours during day and night.

They said that the pressure of gas was also very low.

The protesters claimed they received inflated bills despite prolonged gas outages.

They said that domestic consumers received Rs16,000 to Rs25,000 gas bills for the current month.

The women were seen chanting slogans against the local administration.

They said they were unable to prepare breakfast for their school-going children in the morning owing load-shedding of gas.
