Egypt: 19 people die as explosion hits Cairo city

Cairo, Aug 5 (IBNS): At least 19 people died in an explosion after several cars collided in Egypt's Cairo city on Sunday, media reports said.

The mishap left 30 people hurt.

The explosion reportedly occurred outside a hospital.

The explosion happened when a car which had been travelling against the traffic hit three others, officials were quoted as saying by BBC.

It sparked a fire that forced the evacuation of nearby buildings. Images of blazing cars and plumes of smoke have been widely shared on social media, reported BBC.

The injured people were reportedly rushed to hospital for treatment.
