Easier to meet Canada PM Trudeau than Premier Brian Pallister: Manitoba Mayor Bowman

Winnipeg, Apr 4 (IBNS): In an explosive statement, Manitoba Mayor Brian Bowman has said it is easier for him to meet Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau than Premier Brian Pallister, media reports said.

Bowman told CBC News, "I've made many efforts to meet with the premier and will continue to do so. I've reached out on many occasions."

Bowman has reportedly met Pallister only twice after the Progressive Conservative Party, to which both the leaders belong, was elected in 2016.

Brown said further, "It's more helpful when you can get that face-to-face dialogue."

"I represent a city that has 70 per cent of the population in Manitoba and 75 per cent of the province's GDP."

Bowman said he could meet Trudeau frequently.

"I've met a lot with the prime minister. He's been very available for dialogue and I do appreciate that" Bowman said.

However, Pallister has rubbished the statement of Bowman.

The Premier said there are number of ways to meet other than face-to-face.

New Democratic Party (NDP) leader Wab Kinew also said Pallister has a problem in his management ways.

"He concentrates all power in his office and then he turns out the lights to his office and refuses to engage with people in any meaningful way," Kinew told the media.

Pallister rejected all the allegations.
