Dhaka: Autopsy of woman killed in suicide blast completed

Dhaka, Dec 25 (IBNS): The autopsy of a woman, who had blown herself up during a raid conducted by security officials on militant hideout, here, media reports said.

Dhaka Medical College Hospital's forensic chief Sohel Mahmud was quoted as saying by bdnews24.com that they have found splinters and bomb particles in the body.

"The abdominal area has been crushed as explosives tied to the waist were detonated. It seems to be something like a hand-made grenade," Mahmud, an assistant professor, told the website.

On Saturday, while the raid was taking place at a house in northern Dhaka, the woman came out of the residence and reportedly detonated her suicide vest.

Neo-JMB leader Tanvir Qaderi's teenage son also blew himself up during the raid.

Two women and two children have surrendered to security officials during the raid.

The deceased woman, who blew herself up, came out of the building with a child.

The child,who was injured, is undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
