Dhaka: 9 suspected militants killed in police raid

Dhaka, July 26 (IBNS): At least nine suspected militants were killed during a police raid at an alleged hideout in Bangladesh capital Dhaka on Tuesday.

The raid at a building in near Kalyanpur bus stand was conducted for more than an hour.

An operation called ‘operation storm 26’ was carried out at the Jahaj (ship) building in Kalyanpur area around 5:45am, Additional commissioner Maruf Hasan of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) was quoted as saying by Prothom Alo.

Few members of the police were reportedly injured during the operation.

Bangladesh witnessed a deadly militant attack when 20 people were killed as terrorists stormed into a Dhaka restaurant  on July 1.

The deceased were mostly foreign nationals.
