Death toll in Afghan bomb blast rises to 24

Kabul/UNI: The death toll from a bomb blast at the funeral of a police chief in Afghanistan's eastern Nangarhar province has gone up to 24, and the number of injured has risen to 68.Attaullah Khogyani, the provincial governor's spokesman, told Sputnik on Tuesday.

The spokesman told Sputnik earlier in the day that a suicide bombing killed 15 people and injured 56 others at the funeral of Khewa district police chief Haji Sheikh Ikram, who died of a heart attack last night.

"The death toll from a suicide attack on a funeral in Khewa district has risen to 24 and 68 people have been injured," Khogyani said.
