Zhengzhou: China has imposed a lockdown in Zhengzhou to combat COVID-19, putting a million residents in the region under stress.

Residents were asked to remain at home beginning on Oct 17.

Non-essential businesses have been shut down.

The only instances when people are allowed to leave their homes is when they need to undergo COVID tests, The Epoch Times reported.

The city is known worldwide for being the hub for manufacturing iPhones.

However, the plants are not located in the district where the lockdown has been imposed.

Similar lockdowns and restrictions have been imposed by Chinese authorities in different corners of the country amid reported rise of viral infection.

Many people in China are growing frustrated at the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) stringent policies, reports The Epoch Times.
