Biggest Deal Yet? Trump, MBS sign F-35, nuclear and AI pacts

The United States and Saudi Arabia on Tuesday finalized a sweeping series of landmark agreements, including the long-anticipated sale of F-35 fighter jets, the White House said.

The pacts were reached during Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s visit to the U.S. — his first in seven years.

In a statement, the White House said that, “in a major expansion of this partnership,” the Crown Prince announced that Saudi Arabia would raise its investment commitments in the United States to nearly $1 trillion, citing “deepening trust and momentum” under President Trump’s leadership.

According to the White House, the two countries signed a civil nuclear cooperation agreement, laying the legal foundation for a multi-billion-dollar, decades-long nuclear energy partnership with the Kingdom. The declaration reportedly establishes the United States and American firms as Saudi Arabia’s “partners of choice” in civil nuclear development.

They also agreed on a Critical Minerals Framework to align strategies for securing key resource supply chains.

In addition, a Memorandum of Understanding on Artificial Intelligence was signed. Per the White House, this MOU will give Saudi Arabia access to leading U.S. AI systems while ensuring that sensitive American technologies are shielded from “foreign influence,” thus securing U.S. innovation leadership.

On the defence front, Trump approved a “major defence sale package” that includes future F-35 deliveries. “This strengthens the U.S. defense-industrial base and ensures Saudi Arabia continues to buy American,” the White House said.

The package also reportedly includes nearly 300 American tanks, according to the White House.
