Cox's Bazar: Several houses were gutted as a fire broke out at a Rohingya camp in Bangladesh's Cox's Bazar region on Friday, media reports said.

The fire incident occurred in Lambashia 2-East Rohingya camp at around 10pm.

Two firefighting units from Ukhiya Fire Service and Civil Defence managed to douse the blaze at around 11:30pm, Additional Deputy Inspector General of Police Syed Haroon Or Rashid, commander of the Armed Police Battalion (APBn-14) told Dhaka Tribune.

At least 10-12 houses and two NGO learning centres were reportedly damaged due to fire.

The cause of the fire is still not known.
