Bangladesh: Man dies in alleged shootout with RAB

Dhaka, May 5 (IBNS): During an  alleged shoot out with Bangladesh's Rapid Action Battalion in Chittagong area of the country, one person was kill ,media reports said.

Locals identified the man as Md Bahadur named in seven cases for murder, weapons and robbery with Banshkhali Police Station, bdnews24 news portal reported.

The shootout took place at Chhoto Chanua neighbourhood in the Banshkhali Upazila on early Sunday, Mashkur Rahman, assistant director (media wing) of RAB-7 told the news portal.

A patrol team of RAB-7 conducted an operation in the Chhoto Chanua area at night, Rahman told bdnews24.

  “At the moment, a group of people opened fire on RAB and the elite force retaliated in self-defence. Later, the man was found dead at the scene," he said.From the spot of the shoot out, two firearms and 23 rounds of bullets were recovered.
