Bangladesh hikes fuel prices

| @indiablooms | Aug 06, 2022, at 10:58 pm

Dhaka: The Bangladesh government has cited global hike as the reason behind rising prices of  fuel oil, media reports said on Saturday.

This is the first massive hike in the prices of fuel since the country gained independence in 1971.

The prices of diesel and kerosene have been increased by 42.5 percent to Tk 114 per litre, reports bdnews24.

Petrol prices have been fixed at Tk 130 a litre, a 51.16 percent jump.

Octane will cost Tk 135, or 51.68 percent higher than the current rate.

On Friday night, a large queue was seen in front of the fuel station as people rushed to buy it.

However, people complained they were not getting fuel.
