Bangladesh: BNP-police clash in Habiganj, 50 hurt

At least 50 people, including journalists, were injured during clashes between BNP and police over a human chain formed in Bangladesh's Habiganj region to mark International Human Rights Day.

The incident took place at around 12:30pm in Habiganj city’s Shayestha Nagar area, reported Dhaka Tribune.

According to reports, some shops and cars were vandalised during the incident.

Locals told the newspaper that the district BNP organized a human chain demanding justice on the occasion of International Human Rights Day.

Security has been heightened in the region following the clash.
