Afghanistan: US conducted airstrike leaves 2 local Taliban leaders killed

Kabul, Dec 28 (IBNS): A US force conducted airstrike in Afghanistan's western Farah province left two prominent local leaders of the Taliban group killed, media reports said on Friday.

According to local security officials, the two prominent Taliban leaders killed in the airstrikes were the in charge of the operational activities of the group in this province, Khaama Press reported.

In the meantime, the 207th Zafar Corps of the Afghan Military in the West in a statement said, as reported by the news agency, that the airstrikes were carried out against the hideouts of Mullah Akhtar and Mullah Ewaz in Zer Koh area of the district.

Taliban has not commented on the issue so far.
