Afghanistan: Unknown gunmen attack police district headquarters in Herat, 5 killed

Kabul, Jan 13 (IBNS): Unknown gunmen stormed into a police district-6 (PD6) headquarters in Herat city in the west of Afghanistan on Friday and killed at least five people, media reports said on Sunday.

The Interior Ministry spokesman Najib Danish confirmed to Tolo News that the attack and said security forces have started operation to clear the area of attackers. 

Herat governor’s spokesman Jailani Farhad told the news portal that one of the gunmen has been killed.  

The deceased included two policemen.

Four people were injured in the incident.
