Afghanistan: Unidentified gunmen kill local prayer leader

Kabul, Oct 19 (IBNS): Unidentified gunmen killed a local prayer leader in Afghanistan's  Chakhansor district on Friday, media reports said.

Habibullah Asad, Chakhansor district chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News that Mullah Rahim Kashani, an Imam in the district was shot dead by unidentified gunmen when he was on his way from mosque to his home around 8am Thursday evening.

The attackers managed to flee, he told the news agency, adding that the Imam had no any connections with the government.

No one has been arrested in connection with the incident so far.
