Afghanistan: Suspected Taliban terrorists kill lawmaker’s brother in Paktika

Kabul, Apr 4 (IBNS): Suspected Taliban terrorists shot dead a lawmaker's brother in Afghanistan's southeastern Paktika province, media reports said Wednesday.

The victim has been identified as Haji Dawood.

Provincial council member Afsar Khan, also a nephew of the victim, told Pajhwok Afghan News Haji Dawood was shot dead while offering night prayer at a local mosque.

He told the Afghanistan-based news agency that Dawood, a tribal elder and brother of Wolesi Jirga member Sulemankhel, had no link to the government.

Police chief Brig. Gen. Mohammad Azim Hashimi told Pajhwok Afghan News that Dawood was killed by Taliban
