Afghanistan: Magnetic bomb blast leaves Wolesi Jirga candidate dead

Kabul, Mar 5 (IBNS): A magnetic bomb blast in Afghanistan's Kandahar province has left a Wolesi Jirga candidate killed, media reports said.

The leader was identified as Asadullah Mashouri.

Aziz Ahmad Azizi, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident happened in Fabrika Sari locality in Kandahar city, the provincial capital, shortly after 4 pm.

He told the Afghanistan-based news agency that the blast was caused by a magnetic bomb which had been attached to Ashouri’s vehicle. 

Police have started investigating into the matter.

No group has claimed responsibility for the incident.
