Afghanistan: Kidnap gang leader held from Kabul city

Kabul, Feb 6 (IBNS): Afghanistan security forces have arrested a  kidnapping gang leader Obaidullah aka Raees Obaid from Kabul city, media reports said.

He was reportedly arrested along with his seven other associates.

A statement from the National Directorate of Security (NDS) said the eight-member gang was detained during a Special Unit raid in the limits of 10th police district of Kabul, reported Pajhwok Afghan News.

The statement identified the other detainees as Zaid, Muzamil, Jawad, Niak Mohammad, Ahmad Fawad, Abobakar and Shamsulaq and accused them of taking money from traders and abducting people in Kabul city, reported the news agency.

The exact time of the rid was not mentioned in the news report.
