Kabul: Gunmen attacked a hotel, which is popular among Chinese travellers, in Afghanistan's Kabul city on Monday, media reports said.

The hotel is located in the Shar-e-Naw area of the country.

Kabul Security Department’s Spokesman Khalid Zadran said a compound called “Kabul Hotel," in which the ordinary people are living, came under attack by “devil” elements, reports TOLOnews.

Taliban security forces have reached the area.

A resident of the area told TOLOnews that two big blasts were heard followed by several small blasts. He said the building belongs to Chinese nationals.

No group has claimed responsibility for the incident so far.
