Afghanistan: At least 16 Taliban militants, including key commanders, killed in Wardak province

Kabul, Nov 22 (IBNS): At least 16 Taliban militants, including key commanders, have been killed in an anti-terrorism drive in Afghanistan's Maidan Wardak province, local Tolo News reported.

The operation was conducted by a joint team of police, army, special forces and commandos, an official statement read.

Among the slain militants were commanders Qari Yousof, Qari Mustafa and Qari Farid, each of whom received their training in Pakistan, the statement added.

Operation is still underway in Ali Khel, Zamni, Zeyolat, Ismail Khel, Mohammad Noor Khel and Dar-e-Kuhna Khomar villages.
