France on Wednesday overwhelmed an otherwise spirited Morocco in the FIFA World Cup 2022 semi-final advancing to the final where Kylian Mbappe-starred team will meet the icon Lionel Messi's Argentina.

Theo Hernandez stunned Morocco in the fifth minute with a goal putting France 1-0 ahead of the opponent early in the match.

Though Morocco fought back hard to equalise throughout the match, France ensured their win with a second goal in the 79th minute, courtesy Randal Kolo Muani, dashing the hopes of the red squad to script history.

Morocco, who were supported by a huge number in the stadium, couldn't do anything more than leaving the fans teary-eyed as the team will now only fight for the third place with Croatia on Saturday.

France, who are defending the title, reached the World Cup final for the second consecutive time (2018 and 2022).

France and Argentina match will showcase a high-intensity clash between icons of Mbappe and Messi with the latter aiming to clinch the trophy in his last international match on Sunday.
