'What's special once can be special again': Alia Bhatt on wearing her wedding saree to National Films Awards

She shared the award with Kriti Sanon for 'Mimi' and received her National Award from President Droupadi Murmu at Delhi's Vigyan Bhawan.

Alia's saree, a scalloped off-white confection with delicate gold embroidery, is a Sabyasachi creation.

On her wedding day – April 14, 2022 – Alia wore the saree with a veil covering her head and jewellery also by Sabyasachi.

To collect her National Award, Alia completed her look with flowers in her hair.

As fans wondered why the actress repeated an outfit, Alia took to Instagram to write a note, revealing her thoughts about wearing her wedding saree.

"A special day calls for a special outfit. And sometimes....that outfit is already right there. What's special once can be special again. And again," she wrote.

She was accompanied by her husband Ranbir Kapoor, who looked sharp in a black outfit.

Much like Alia, Kriti Sanon appeared at the prestigious event clad in a cream-coloured saree and sported a hairdo adorned with flowers.

A few hours after the ceremony ended, Alia treated her fans to some lovely pictures and video from the ceremony.

In one of the pictures, we can see her pose with her fellow National Awardees Kriti Sanon and Allu Arjun. In another, she can be seen smiling widely in a selfie with her husband Ranbir Kapoor as she shows off her prize. Alia Bhatt kept the caption simple. she wrote, "A photo, a moment, a memory for life."

Alia was presented with the Silver Lotus and a certificate by President Murmu. As she posed with President Murmu, her husband Ranbir Kapoor was spotted capturing the moment on his phone.
