Surinder Films launches festive tracks ‘Chupi Chupi’ and ‘Jhoome Re Phaagun’ ahead of Durga Puja

The releases, titled "Chupi Chupi" and "Jhoome Re Phaagun," were unveiled by company founder Surinder Singh alongside the creative teams behind both projects.

Composer duo Shiladitya-Som stated that the dual release was designed to capture both introspective and celebratory elements of festival music, describing the genre as existing at the intersection of tradition and modern reinvention.

"Chupi Chupi," which focuses on themes of unspoken love, memory, and nostalgia, features vocals by singer Anwesha Datta Gupta. The accompanying music video, directed by Sumit Mondal, stars actors Poonam Basak and Soumitra Bose.

Datta Gupta said the track had been recorded several years prior and welcomed its release as an independent, original non-film composition.

The composers noted that Datta Gupta's vocal texture was an ideal match for the slower, reflective nature of "Chupi Chupi," contrasting it with "Jhoome Re Phaagun," which incorporates Assamese and Bengali folk traditions into an electronic dance framework.

The second track, directed by Jeet Chakraborty, is aimed at the high-energy celebrations typical of the festival period, utilizing regional rhythms combined with electronic instrumentation.

Actor Soham Majumdar and members of the production unit also attended the launch. Both tracks have been distributed across major streaming platforms and the Surinder Music YouTube channel.
