Shreya Ghoshal’s new song ‘Dil Ke Daag’ from Emperor Vs Sarat Chandra launched at Kolkata’s Shobhabazar Rajbari

The track features lyrics by Srijato, and a score composed by Mukherji, marking the filmmaker's dual role as director and composer on the project.

The launch was held in the palace’s traditional 'Nat Mandir' (dance hall), continuing the production's promotional strategy of staging events at heritage sites relevant to the film's period setting.

During the unveiling, actress Koushani Mukherjee, who plays a courtesan in the drama, performed a choreographed sequence from the film in period attire. Mukherji and lead actor Abir Chatterjee joined the stage during the routine, portraying period-era patrons.

Mukherji commended Mukherjee for mastering the choreography under tight deadlines, noting that she carried out the required preparation effectively despite short rehearsal time.

Chatterjee highlighted Mukherji’s expanded responsibilities on the production, pointing out that the filmmaker serves not only as director but also as composer and songwriter. He added that Mukherjee deserved recognition for executing the routine live before the media.

Mukherjee noted that her working rapport with Mukherji on an earlier project made her readily agree to accept the courtesan role when approached.

The event marks another heritage-linked rollout for 'Emperor vs Sarat Chandra', as the production team continues its promotional campaign across Kolkata landmarks reflecting the cultural backdrop of the narrative.
