Mumbai/IBNS: Sunny Deol-starrer Border 2, the spiritual sequel to J. P. Dutta’s iconic 1997 film Border, posted a massive box office haul on Republic Day, earning ₹59 crore in India on Monday, which was a public holiday.

Since its release on January 23, the film has collected ₹180 crore in four days, according to industry tracker Sacnilk.

Set against the backdrop of the 1971 India–Pakistan war, Border 2 expands the narrative across multiple fronts, showcasing action sequences involving the Indian Army, Air Force and Navy, offering a broader canvas than the original film.

Directed by Anurag Singh, the film features Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty in lead roles, delivering a blend of patriotic fervour and high-octane action.
