Off Campus star Belmont Cameli joins Sydney Sweeney in new Sleepy Hollow reimagining
Los Angeles/IBNS: Off Campus star Belmont Cameli is set to join Sydney Sweeney in Sony Pictures' upcoming film Hollow, based on filmmaker Lindsey Anderson Beer's forthcoming debut novel, Deadline reported.
The novel is scheduled to be published by Putnam in fall 2027, with Beer adapting her own book for the film.
Sydney Sweeney plays Katrina Van Tassel
Sweeney stars as Katrina Van Tassel, turning the character from a romantic figure in Washington Irving's original story The Legend of Sleepy Hollow into the central protagonist of the new narrative.
Belmont Cameli joins as Brom Bones
Cameli has joined the project as Brom Bones, Katrina's rival for Ichabod Crane's affection in the original story.
The film is expected to offer a fresh take on the classic tale, with Katrina at the centre of the story.
Sweeney to produce the film
The project is particularly significant for Sweeney as she will not only star in the film but also produce it through her newly launched Honey Trap production banner.
Hollow will mark Honey Trap's first film, with Margot Robbie's LuckyChap also producing.
Release date
No official theatrical release date has been announced yet.
The film is currently in development/pre-production, while Beer's source novel is scheduled for publication in fall 2027.
