'Not easy...': Kangana Ranaut praises Deepika Padukone over her Oscar presentation

Mumbai/IBNS: Indian actor Kangana Ranaut, who is known for her outspoken nature, has praised superstar Deepika Padukone over her presentation at the Oscars 2023.

Kangana tweeted, "How beautiful @deepikapadukone looks, not easy to stand there holding entire nation together, carrying its image, reputation on those delicate shoulders and speaking so graciously and confidently. Deepika stands tall as a testimony to the fact that Indian women are the best."

Deepika looked gorgeous in an off-shoulder black gown as she walked on the stage and presented the performance on the now Academy Award winning song Naatu Naatu from Telugu film RRR.

Presenting the song, Deepika said, "In addition to being sung in Telugu and illustrating the film's anti-colonial themes, it's also a total banger..."

"Do you know Naatu? Because if you don't, you're about to. From the film RRR, this is Naatu Naatu," she added.

In a proud moment for India at the Oscars 2023, the massively popular Naatu Naatu song from Telugu language film RRR and Tamil short documentary film The Elephant Whisperers won the 95th Academy Awards in two different categories.

The Elephant Whisperers was the first honour for India on Sunday evening as it won in the Best Documentary Short Subject category.

Later, Naatu Naatu surpassed other nominations to win in the Best Original Song category.

The Oscars was awarded to composer MM Keeravaani and lyricist Chandrabose.
