Percussionist Pt. Prodyut Mukherjee pays tribute to R D Burman

Kolkata, May 20 (IBNS): GiMA Award-winning musician-composer-percussionist Pt. Prodyut Mukherjee recently paid a musical tribute to late legendary composer R D Burman in his 80th year at Calcutta Club through is fusion project Rhythm Express's latest production PANCHAM BEATS.

It was all about R. D. Burman's timeless compositions, which were performed with a twist, said  Mukherjee, known for his Rhythm Express Fusion performances at international venues with celebrated performers of the world.

The mukhra of songs was followed by fusion in which all the instruments were used in a different way. R. D. himself did a lot of experiments in his lifetime be it the quality of the recording or inventing fresh ideas to enrich music by any means.

Songs like " Tujse Naraj", " Roz Roz Ankho tale", " Kuch Na Kaho", " Tere Bina Zindagi Se Koi", were performed.

Musicians who performed include Pt. Prodyut Mukherjee ( Tabla & Mouth Percussion ) , Shouvik Mukherjee ( Sitar), Sandipan Ganguly ( Violin), Ray Ari  ( Drums), Sourav Chakraborty & Debdut Chatterjee ( Keyboard), Ashish Chatterjee ( Taan Sar Gam), Dibbendu Santra ( Bass Guitar).

Pt. Mukherjee said: "It's my tribute to the music maestro who was simply ahead of times. He was truly global music maker from India. His timeless creations will be remembered by the ages to come ".
