Kolkata, Apr 6 (IBNS): Indian actress Raima Sen has wished her grandmother and legendary actress late Suchitra Sen on her birthday on Friday.

Wishing Sen on Twitter, Raima said: "Happy birthday Ma ..We miss you everyday."

Sen made her acting debut with Shesh Kothaay in 1952. However the film didn't release.

She had entertained her fans and followers with number of films like Harano Sur, Saptapadi, Pathey Holo Deri, Shaare Chuattor, Deep Jwele Jai, Uttar Falguni and several others.

Sen and other acting legend late Uttam Kumar were one of the most loved romantic pair onscreen.

She had also stepped into Bollywood with Aandhi in 1974.

Aandhi was inspired by former Indian Prime Minister late Indira Gandhi.

Sen became the first Indian actress to receive an international award in 1963.

She had won the best actress award at the Moscow International Film Festival for Bengali film Saat Paake Bandha.

In 1978, after dominating the Bengali film industry for over two decades, Sen had retired from acting and took herself away from public gaze. She went into seclusion.

Ever since her retirement, Sen never brought herself in front of the public.

She left her last breath in 2014.
