Kolkata, Sep 17 (IBNS) With countdown beginning for Bengal's biggest festival Durga Puja, superstar Prosenjit Chatterjee and actress Rituparna Sengupta have come together in a pujo album titled 'Gaan Parar Pujo'.

Lending his voice to an album of songs for the first time, Prosenjit Chatterjee crooned "Aaj Addar Tale Tale' to the accompaniment of guitar and drums as the lead singer.

"I am a bathroom singer but my shortcomings were more than made up by my team of professional singers Anindya Chatterjee and Upal Sengupta and others and we all enjoyed the jam session. The lyrics are beautiful and they ring in nostalgia," the 'Moner Manush' actor said before the launch at a city hotel here.

Rituparna Sengupta, also lending her voice to a puja album for the first time, did the narratives tying up the string of songs in an imagery.

"Yes  you can say in a way we have come together again after Praktan in the same work," Prosenjit said on the involvement of his heroine in countless films.

"Puja brings in a flood of memories including childhood pandal hopping and romancing the most beautiful girl in neighbourhood for four days. Puja brings memories of 'daal bara' sent with affection by my Didi," Prosenit said.

Popular singer, former Chandrabindoo front-man, lyricist-musician Upal said the album has five parts - 1) adda, 2) khaowa daowa (having food and chitchat) 3) Pujor Prem (romancing during puja), 4) Chhotobelar Pujo (Childhood puja) and 5) Prabashi Pujo (puja outside Bengal) - the five traits which distinguish a Bengali from others.

Having the all the big names, the foot-tapping album also consists of Rupankar Bagchi, Iman Chakraborty and Lagnojita Chakroborty.

"The album is being promoted digitally by Emami Healthy & Tasty and is expected to build a strong Bengali connection beyond geographies," Prosenjit said.
