Rituparna Sengupta, Chiranjit Chakraborty starrer new Bengali film 'Dabaru' announced

Kolkata/IBNS: Tollywood superstars Rituparna Sengupta and Chiranjit Chakraborty starrer new Bengali film, 'Dabaru', was announced on Saturday.

The film, which also features Dipankar De, Kaushik Sen, Shankar Chakraborty, Kharaj Mukherjee in pivotal roles, will be directed by Pathikrit Basu and produced by Windows Production.

The film is a motivational tale about a young chess player, Surja, who rose from the alleys of North Kolkata to become a grandmaster. The story is inspired from the life of the ‘Youngest Grand master of India’, Surya Sekhar Ganguly.

Speaking on the film, Rituparna said, "It is always a pleasure working with Windows. Windows is like my second home. Moreover, Pathikrit is a young and very talented director, and I am really looking forward to working with him. I am really excited for the film."

Popular director duo Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee will be the creative producers of the upcoming project.

Pathikrit Basu shared, "First of all, thanks to Windows Productions, Shibuda-Nandita. Directing films in the productions of whom I first assisted and stepped into the industry is undoubtedly the greatest achievement of my life."
