Excited about the theatrical release of The Eken, Chakrabarti said, "It has been almost four years since I’ve been playing the character of Ekenbabu and the immense love which I have received from the audience is unmatchable.

"It is the result of their love that we are coming to the theatres this time with our new adventure and SVF has played a huge part in taking Ekenbabu to the big screens. Lastly, the classy direction of Joydeep Mukherjee will take the movie to a whole new level."

The movie is based on Sujan Dasgupta’s original story, while the script and the dialogue have been written by Padmanabha Dasgupta.
