Paresh Rawal, Anupam Kher, Shabana Azmi remember Om Puri on first death anniversary

Mumbai, Jan 6 (IBNS): Bollywood actors, including Paresh Rawal and Anupam Kher, remembered actor Om Puri on his first death anniversary.

Puri passed away at the age of 66 on this day last year, leaving hundreds of his fans shocked.

Remembering him, actor Anupam Kher tweeted: "Miss you my friend #OmPuri.."

Rawal said he was remembering Puri on his first death anniversary.

"Remembering Shri Om Puri on his first death anniversary. A great actor and a greater human being ," he said.

Actress Shabana Azmi said: "Cant believe its a year already since you left us #Om Puri. I still have the ikat duppatta you wove for me during the making of #Susman."

Om Puri was born in Ambala, Haryana, to a Punjabi family on Oct 18, 1950.

He made his film debut in the 1976 Marathi film Ghashiram Kotwal, based on a Marathi play of the same name by Vijay Tendulkar.

He later continued to act in movies like Aakrosh,Gandhi,Mirch Masala,Narsimha,The Ghost and the Darkness,My Son the Fanatic and many more.

Om Puri was known to his fans for his brilliant acting skills.
