Actress Gayatri Joshi and her husband Vikas Oberoi recently, met with an accident when they were travelling in Italy recently.

Gayatri's car collided with other vehicles and a camper van, reports Free Press Journal.

The collision reportedly occurred when several high-performance vehicles, including a Lamborgini and Ferrari, tried to overtake the camper van simultaneously.

The van was overturned on a rural road in Sardinia.

Unfortunately, the Ferrari caught fire, resulting in the loss of the lives of the couple inside, identified as Melissa Krautli, 63, and Markus Krautli, 67, from Switzerland, the news portal reported.

Gayatri said they were 'fine'.

She told The Free Press Journal, "Vikas and I are in Italy. We met with an accident here (multiple-car collision).. With gods grace, we both are absolutely fine."

Gayatri is best remembered for her performance in the 2004-released movie Swades.

The movie featured Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role.

She married Vikas Oberoi, a promoter of Oberoi Construction, in 2005.

She has mostly stayed away from movies since then.
