Yemen's Houthi rebels claim drone attacks on 2 Saudi airports

Sanaa, June 24 (Xinhua/UNI) Yemen's Houthi rebels said that they launched multiple drone strikes on two Saudi regional airports on Sunday, the group's al-Masirah TV reported.

The attacks targeted hangars of aircraft and other military facilities in the airports of Abha and Jizan.

Abha airport is located in Asir province, while Jizan airport is located in the neighboring province of Jizan.

Meanwhile, Saudi-owned Al Arabiya television reported that the attack on Abha airport killed a man and wounded eight others.

These attacks were the latest in a series of missile and drone strikes launched by the Iran-allied Shiite Houthi rebels against the Saudi regional airports.

The Saudi-led Arab military coalition has been fighting in Yemen since 2015 to support the exiled Yemeni government against the Iran-allied Houthis.
