Russian nuclear-capable strategic bomber crashes minutes after takeoff, 6 crew members killed
A Russian Tu-95MS strategic bomber crashed during a training flight in the Far Eastern Amur region on Tuesday, killing six of the seven crew members on board, Russia's Defence Ministry said.
The aircraft crashed minutes after takeoff in an uninhabited area of the region, according to the ministry.
Six crew members dead, one survives
The Defence Ministry said one crew member survived the crash and was taken to a medical facility for treatment.

The aircraft crashed a few minutes after takeoff near the village of Krasnoyarovo in the Amur region.

The condition of the survivor was not immediately disclosed.
The ministry said the aircraft was carrying no ammunition during the training flight.
Bomber crashed during training flight
The Tu-95MS is a nuclear-capable strategic bomber that Russia regularly uses for military training and exercises.
The Defence Ministry said the aircraft was conducting a routine training flight when it went down on September 29.
The exact cause of the crash has not yet been disclosed.
Video shows aircraft engulfed in flames
Unverified video footage circulating online appeared to show the bomber crashing, followed by flames and thick smoke rising from the site. Loud booming and crackling sounds could also be heard in the footage.
The crash occurred in an uninhabited area, according to Russian authorities.
An investigation is expected to determine what caused the aircraft to go down shortly after takeoff.
