Ten people arrested after police killed in UK

London, Aug 16 (Xinhua/UNI) Ten people have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a police officer was killed Thursday in Berkshire, a county in southeast England. 

The Thames Valley Police said in a statement Friday that a murder investigation has been launched following a serious incident around 2330 hrs Thursday in Berkshire.

The police officer was killed while performing his duties, attending a reported burglary.

According to the statement, the arrested people are currently in police custody at various police stations across the Thames Valley.

"We have made a total of ten arrests in connection with this incident, and those arrested are currently in police custody. Those arrested are all male and aged between 13 and 30," said Stuart Blaik, senior investigating officer Detective Chief Inspector of the Thames Valley Police Major Crime Unit.
