Rescuers say they may have found six people alive in avalanche-hit central Italy

Rome, Jan 20 (IBNS): Six people have been found alive in Italy's Rigapiano hotel, two days after it was buried in an avalanche, reported the media on Friday..

Earlier, all the 30 people, including several children were feared dead after the Rigopiano hotel, in the Abruzzo region of central Italy was hit by a devastating avalanche, giving no time to the people to escape.

Rescuers said the six survivors had been discovered buried under snow, but had not yet been extracted, reported the BBC.

Rescuers are working in freezing conditions, reported the media.

Four earthquakes above magnitude five rocked central Italy on Wednesday, with tremors continuing into the night.
