Pope Francis to US President Trump: Fight for the poor at time of grave humanitarian crises

Vatican/Washington, Jan 21 (IBNS): Pope Francis congratulated US President DonaldTrump on his inauguration and urged to keep fighting for poor at time of grave humanitarian crises, the media reported on Saturday.

He offered his 'cordial god wishes' and said he hoped Trump would be granted 'wisdom and strength in the exercise' of his office, media reported.

“Under your leadership, may America’s stature continue to be measured above all by its concern for the poor, the outcast and those in need who, like Lazarus, stand before our door,” the Pope, the current head of the Roman Catholic Church, was quoted as saying by the media.
