A 13-year-old domestic worker was allegedly tortured to death by her employers in Pakistan's Gujranwala city, media reports said on Tuesday.

In the first information report (FIR) lodged with Model Town police, Abid Ali, a labourer from Noshera Virkan, said that he had left his daughter, Erum, for work at the house of Maqbool, son of Haji Amin, reported Dawn News.

He said Amin called him over the telephone and said Erum had suffered a heart attack and died.

The complainant said he rushed to the house and took the body home.

During the burial, they noticed multiple injury marks on the body of Erum, while her hands and feet were swollen, Dawn News reported.

He alleged that Maqbool, his brother Kamran, Maqbool’s wife Shumaila, and two unidentified accomplices tortured the minor to death.

Police have registered a case against five suspects.
